2025 was a year of transformation at Tempco. We upgraded our foundry capabilities, expanded our brand presence, and reimagined how customers interact with our products. These investments reflect our commitment to efficiency, quality, and customer service. Here’s what we accomplished this year.
Foundry Updates
This year, Tempco upgraded its foundry with the addition of cutting-edge equipment designed to increase efficiency and flexibility. The facility now houses two new electric Schafer furnaces, a large Inductotherm induction furnace, and two smaller induction furnaces, creating a more nimble production environment. These upgrades were complemented by new mold machines, a powerful mold manipulator, and a precision laser welder.
The induction furnaces bring outstanding efficiency, melting virtually any metal type using less than half the electricity of older models. The addition of multiple smaller units provides much more flexibility. Metals can be poured from one furnace while another heats to the next temperature, eliminating the downtime that previously occurred when switching between different metals or temperatures.
Additionally, the foundry welcomed “The Claw,” a powerful new mold manipulator capable of handling sand molds up to five tons and 80 inches in width. This automated lifting system has improved both the safety and productivity of the foundry, allowing workers to move and rotate large molds with precision while reducing the need for manual labor and preventing production issues by effectively manipulating sand molds without compromising their integrity.
Beyond the raw equipment, we also invested in new permanent mold machines that bring both consistency and safety to the casting process. These machines feature push-button controls and programmable settings that can store configurations for specific part numbers, ensuring repeatable results with minimal manual intervention.
The automated systems include built-in safety features like dead-man switches and strategically positioned controls that keep operators away from moving components. Seven different castings have already been produced on the new equipment, with more in development.
Complementing these foundry improvements, a new laser welder has transformed our sheet metal work. This advanced equipment has significantly reduced the time required to produce high-quality welds on thin-gauge sheet metals, cutting production time in half or more for many applications. The laser welder has proven particularly valuable for products like our MI band heaters, delivering cleaner welds with minimal heat distortion. With an intuitive interface and programmable settings, the system has shortened the learning curve for operators while improving overall welding consistency across production runs. The laser welder’s versatility extends beyond production work. It has also been used to build custom test equipment, such as an enclosure for pressure testing heaters in demanding conditions.
Tempco Trucks
This year, we took the brand on the road with the introduction of a newly branded pair of trucks. The updated fleet features bold Tempco branding designed to increase visibility and recognition throughout our community. Whether making deliveries, picking up tools or supplies, or simply traveling between facilities, our trucks now serve as rolling brand ambassadors for the Tempco name. Our shipping department can now move our products between our production facilities easier and look good doing it!
Digital Catalog
Tempco created a new way to explore our products with the introduction of a digital catalog. While PDFs and product listings have been available on the Tempco website, the digital catalog offers an enhanced, interactive experience that bridges the gap between digital convenience and the tactile experience of browsing a physical catalog. Users can flip through pages with familiar gestures, search for specific products instantly, bookmark important pages for later reference, and save favorite items for easy access. The platform supports embedded video content and interactive elements that bring products to life in ways a printed catalog never could. It’s the best of both worlds: the intuitive browsing experience customers know and love, enhanced with the speed and functionality that only digital can provide.
